ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION CAMPAIGN

2017/2018

The Cabrera Archipelago

OBJECTIVES

To bring schools of the interior of Mallorca closer to the first maritime and terrestrial national park, The Cabrera Archipelago.
To make school children more aware of the value of terrestrial and marine fauna and flora, as well as to understand the importance of its conservation.
To promote, raise awareness on respecting the local environment and conservation of the Cabrera archipelago among students and teachers.

DEVELOPMENT

Publication and distribution in schools of the new magazine “L’arxipèlag de Cabrera, un paradís natural” (The Cabrera Archipelago, a natural paradise), which was subsequently used as a tool during visits to the archipelago. Posters were also published  and  displayed in the educational centres. Seven visits were made to Cabrera, which was accessed by boat and subsidised by Cemex, which had a very positive impact on the schoolchildren who took part in the activity.

MAGAZINES

Publication of 1,000 magazines and posters of the same campaign; distribution of a large part of them in the participating schools.

PARTICIPANTS

A total of 420 pupils from different schools in Búger, Alaró, Mancor de la Vall, Campanet, Lloseta, Consell and Binissalem took part.
